Editorial policy
Urban Football Review aims to make its explanations clear, its distinctions visible and its corrections easy to understand. We treat claims with care and do not present guesses as established fact.
Accuracy and context
Writers should check factual claims against suitable sources and make clear when a point is an interpretation, a recollection or an example rather than a universal rule. Where customs differ between places or groups, we say so rather than flattening those differences into one account.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject of the publication. Payment or a partnership does not buy favourable editorial coverage. Material that has a commercial relationship is identified clearly so readers can tell what they are reading.
Corrections
If you spot an error, use the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text with an explanation proportionate to the error.
Images and illustrations
Images should support the subject without misleading readers about what happened or where. Some illustrations are AI-generated; these are treated as illustrations, not documentary evidence, and are labelled where used.
A city is part of the pitch
Football changes to fit the spaces and people around it. We pay attention to those changes, from the shape of a game to the habits that let it happen.
